Grippion
What is a Grippion?
A Grippion is like a Gryphon, only not. Instead of a bird and a lion, it's a bid and a scorpion.
There are three types of a Grippion. A common, uncommon, and rare. Also known as Type 1, 2, and 3. Or for the lab versions. T1, T2, and T3
Grippions where formed in a lab found out in the swamp lands, a place where none dare to go. This swamp is found in the deep jungle, found in the deep forest. Any that venture here go missing, never to be seen or heard from again.
When they first started they were only palm size, cute but deadly. The smaller they are, the more venom they have.
After 75 years of nuclear radiation they have come to grow to a larger size, larger then the normal human size.
In order, is T1, T2, and T3. Again, the smaller, the more venom to kill.
The Grippion race has a life span that can range up to a few good hundred years.
T1 has been know to live close to 200-300 years.
T2 life span is roughly around 100-150 years.
T3 has been known to have the life span of 200-250 years of age.
Each type works as their own race, they live in their own ways. Be that each and every one of each type is just he same is not always the case. There are the rare few that outgo there kind and work with the others. This is due to if they are outcast or not.
T1 Grippions are well known for being the higher race. They are closer to the human race then the rest of their kind. Often found even working with the human kind. They seek knowledge, to learn and know all. T1 Gripps work most like a wolf pack. They run in large groups, or not at all, like loners. There is always a lead role, an alpha. Kings as they call them. Kings and Queens will then have a Prince and/or Princess under them, like Betas in a wolf pack. Their ranks reach out just like a pack. And often with the way they are, you might even find wolves mixed into there numbers. It's not un common to find both Grippions, Wolves, and other Human like beasts working together as one.
T1's aim for piece, though haven't a problem taking to war as needed. They have laws and rules to uphold, like that of a pack.
Temperaments if this type may very from character to character.
T2 Griipions are the kind that sit on the fence of this race. They can go both ways. They are found mixed into the numbers of the T1 Gripps, or often found running around with the T3 Gripps. It's based on each T2 character. They have no real goal as a race.
T3 Grippions are the lower end of the race almost, the out casts. They don't like to work together, though they have no problem being around others. They have no order, and seek out mass destruction. It's rare the this type is shunned by it's fellow Grippion.
To go against the T3 way, to seek piece or try to back out is like trying to back out of a gang.
Grippions when mating, mate for life, no matter the type they are. As a T3 once a Gripp has reached the proper age they are tossed out to fend there own. A T2 if they choose the side with the T2 they work that way, and same for if they take to the T1 style. As a T1 Gripp, growing up, you again work like that of a wolf pack. Only reason a younge might get tossed out, is if they see to have a birth defect(this is rare), or if they break the order and laws they have to much come to live by.
The T1 race when they started, they grew up in a wolf pack, giving them this way and reason of how they work. So they run by the wolf pack code.
NOW this is the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky,
And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk, the law runneth forward and back;
For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.
Wash daily from nose tip to tail tip; drink deeply, but never too deep;
And remember the night is for hunting and forget not the day is for sleep.
The jackal may follow the tiger, but, cub, when thy whiskers are grown,
Remember the wolf is a hunter—go forth and get food of thy own.
Keep peace with the lords of the jungle, the tiger, the panther, the bear;
And trouble not Hathi the Silent, and mock not the boar in his lair.
When pack meets with pack in the jungle, and neither will go from the trail,
Lie down till the leaders have spoken; it may be fair words shall prevail.
When ye fight with a wolf of the pack ye must fight him alone and afar,
Lest others take part in the quarrel and the pack is diminished by war.
Only the T1 race of the Grippions form groups, there are many of these groups scatterd about. No other type does this. The T2 is only if they choose to be a part of the T1. The T3 only goes to about there own, or with their mate(should they have one). Till hatchings are old enough to be tossed then that's it they carry one and repeat
It's rare for T3 hatchings to make it on their own once the parents kick them out or all out leave them. Making their kind that much harder to come by.
Grippion Eggs can be told apart without a problem. T1 may have one or two scales on the smooth shell that is. Where are T2 Eggs is freckled in scales. A T3 Egg is nothing but scale like.
Incubation is based on how and where they are. If found in the barren desert, nests might be found hiding under the sands or rocks. In the mountains, nests stay to the caves, away from the harsh nipping of the weather Forests and Jungle can very from being in the trees, or on the ground in a moss like form.
